Veteran's Day Parade & Program Held in Taylorsville, Utah on November 11,2011

     Celebrate Veteran's Day with a fun parade located in the city of Taylorsville in Utah. United Veterans Council & City of Taylorsville presents the Veteran's Day Parade & Program!

    On, November 11, 2011, the small parade will start at 11:00 AM. The parade route will start on 2700 West near the Rec Center and Library in Taylorsville. The parade will finish by going south on 2700 W. and will turn left onto 5400 S. The parade will end near the Taylorsville City Hall.      A special program will start at 12:15 PM after the parade at the Taylorsville City Hall. The special speaker is the Utah Governor, Gary Herbert. There will be a special Memorial Unveiling that you will not want to miss. This unveiling is just the first of nine sculptures of the future Veterans Memorial. 

    Flag ceremonies, recognition of Taylorsville students in the poster and essay contests, patriotic musical numbers, memorabilia from World War II, Vietnam, Iraq, Korean, and Afghanistan Wars, military helicopter static display and fly-over, and historic military displays are also scheduled for the program that you won't want to miss.

Super Moist Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread Fall Time Recipe

     Today, we would love to share with you this great fall time recipe that will be a hit at those upcoming parties! This bread is super moist and will leave you wanting to go for a second slice of bread!

    Super Moist Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

Ingredients:

1 large can or (2 small cans) canned pumpkin
5 1/4 cups sugar
1 3/4 cup vegetable oil
7 eggs
1 cup + 2 Tbsp water
7/8 tsp salt
1 3/4 tsp cinnamon
1 3/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
3 1/2 tsp baking soda
5 1/4 cups flour
1 bag chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375. Grease 4 loaf pans with shortening. Combine pumpkin and sugar and mix well. Add eggs and oil. Add water and stir in well.

Add salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and soda and mix well. Add flour last and stir (by hand) until well mixed but still a little lumpy. Don't over mix. Stir in chocolate chips.

Pour into 4 greased bread pans . Bake 375 degrees for 55-60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Let cool for about 10-15 minutes in the pans and then remove from pans to finish cooling.

Locate Utah Homes, Happy to Donate School Supplies to Stuff the Bus!

     Locate Utah Homes recently had the wonderful opportunity to join in and donate some school supplies during the Stuff the Bus event hosted by Veritas Funding, a great lending company, and United Way of Salt Lake.  They had a goal of 500 backpacks to collect for children in need of school supplies for this upcoming school year!

     Locate Utah Homes was happy to donate a few school products to help out needy children in the Salt Lake Valley.
