Swedish Heritage Society of Utah Midsummer Event 2012







    This upcoming weekend is the annual Swedish Midsummer Celebration located at the International Peace Gardens in Salt Lake City, Utah! Midsummer is a Swedish event that is full of a lot of dancing, food, games, music and fun!

The Midsummer event, itself, is FREE!
** There is a charge for dinner, raffle tickets, drinks, games and purchases at the Swedish store, if you so desire these things. **
The schedule includes:
4:00 PM- Bring fresh flowers and foliage to help decorate the May pole. Only fresh & NO plastic flowers!

5:00 PM - Pole raising

6:00 PM - Program and games for the children

6:30 PM - Raffle drawing

7:00 PM - Dinner catered by "Copper Grill" (formerly "A Viking's Feast")
Adults : $12.00 (members $10/adult) 
10 & under: $8.00 (members $7/child)
* * The Copper Grill Catering has amazing food! If you haven't tried it yet, then you are missing out! Some of the catering food includes: meatballs, fresh baked rolls, country mash potatoes, meatloaf, dessert, drinks, & much more! * *
 
Swedish Heritage, as a fund raiser, will be selling Swedish candy (several varieties recently brought from Sweden), Marabou chocolate (mint, dark, milk, schweitzernöt (nuts), etc), Swedish cheeses (präst-, herrgård, Havarti dill, äkta getost (100% goat’s cheese) & hushållsost (Farmer’s cheese) Felix lingon berries, sylter (several varieties of jam), saft (a drink concentrate), julmust (made locally), Kalles kaviar, sill (pickled herring), knäckebröd (crisp bread), blåbärs- & nyponsoppa, vaniljsås (vanilla sauce mix), jordgubbskräm (strawberry dessert), creamy Danish butter, baked goods, books in Swedish and English, necklaces, CD’s, maps of Sweden, beautiful Ekelunds table linens (great for wall-hangings as well), Sverigedräkten (folk costume in cotton), dalahästar, and TONS of other fun stuff at FANTASTIC prices.

    The store opens at 4 PM!!

   Due to limited seating, you’re welcome to bring your own chairs & blankets. Cold drinks will be for sale throughout the event!

Events in other towns always sound so fascinating, but yet I never go to things in my town LOL
